Richie Sambora refuses to rule out Bon Jovi reunion
He reunite in a "special situation"
Richie Sambora has refused to rule out reuniting with Bon Jovi saying he would return if a “special situation” took place.
After 30 triumphant years with Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora quit the New York band in March 2013 just 20 dates into their sprawling Because We Can Tour.
Three years later he explained that he exited Bon Jovi for family reasons, saying: "I really needed to take some time to be with my daughter. She needed me and I needed her, actually."
Alongside early bassist Alex John Such, Richie Sambora briefly reunited with Bon Jovi for their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction in 2018 performing ‘Livin' On A Prayer’, ‘You Give Love A Bad Name’ and ‘It's My Life’, however the guitarist hasn’t performed with the band since.
In a fresh interview with the Daily Mail, Richie Sambora was asked if he would ever rejoin Bon Jovi. He replied: "It would have to be a special situation for me to go back, but I'm certainly not counting it out. I have no malice towards that band."
Richie’s comments come a week after Jon Bon Jovi told Germany's Rock Antenne: "There's not a day that goes by that I don't wish that Richie had his life together and was still in the band.
“And yet, in a weird way, it's because of his inability to get it together anymore that we went on and wrote 'This House Is Not For Sale'."
Reflecting upon his former band mate’s comments, Richie said: "When people say I don't have my life together — are you kidding me? I'm the happiest dude on the block."
Bon Jovi released their 15th studio album ‘Bon Jovi 2020’ on 2nd October and it dented the UK album chart at no.5.
‘Bon Jovi 2020’ is the third Bon Jovi album not to feature Richie Sambora, following 2015’s ‘Burning Bridges’ and 2016’s ‘This House Is Not For Sale.’
